近日，中国篮协纪律与道德委员会公布对上海和江苏两家俱乐部的处罚，两队本赛季名次和参赛资格被取消并核减经费500万，双方主帅和总经理都有禁赛数年的处罚。在这一消息出来之后，多家美媒也进行了报道，此事在国外球迷群体中也引起了广泛的讨论...

The accusation here (which I can't say how valid it is, I haven't had the chance to look deeper into it) is that it was match fixing. The Sharks benefited from the series lasting 3 games instead of 2 (by having the suspension last for only one more game rather than 2), the other team avoided being swept, and also very possibly both sides had some bets going on.

Yeah, throwing a game is bad on its own but there's a massive difference between one team deciding it's in its own interests to tank and both teams agreeing in advance which one of them will win.
